WHAT IS REMOTE DESKTOP SHARING? Remote Desktop Sharing (also
known as Screen Sharing or Desktop Streaming) allows a technology
consultant or administrator full access and control to the Small
Business Server remotely, as if they were sitting right in front of it.
Scenarios with Remote Desktop Sharing
Remote Desktop Sharing is a good solution for the following
scenarios:
- A technology consultant can access a system remotely during
non-business hours to make configuration changes without affecting
users. The Small Business Server computer automatically picks up the
call and requires authentication for access, eliminating the need
for a person to wait at the server for the phone call.
- An administrator or technology consultant can add or delete
employees, configure their personal profiles, and do minor changes
from their office, rather than be paid for an expensive on-site
call.
- An administrator or technology consultant can take immediate
action in case of a server emergency.
